Stirnpanzer

£1,750.00

This rare piece of WW1 German militaria was recovered from a scrapyard in Bapaume, France during the 1970’s and is a great example.

This ” brow plate” or armour was designed to attach to the M1916 helmet, via the two ventilation lugs and a leather strap, to afford additional protection from small arms fire and shrapnel.

It is thought that only 50,000 were ever made so this is a rare survivor.

The condition is commensurate with it’s age and though it does show some signs of corrosion, it is overall appearance is good.

Please study the photographs as they also form part of the description.
