This is an original First World War poster (not a re-print), published by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee, London, in 1914.
It features a framed portrait of Lord Frederick Roberts of Kandahar, V.C. one of the most successful British military commanders of the late 19th century, who died in whilst visiting troops on the Western Front in 1914.
There are some fold marks and damage to the edges but nevertheless a rare item, another example of which is held by the Imperial War Museum.
