Curtiss OX-5 V8 aero engines only occasionally appear for sale. These compact 8.2-litre, 90-degree V8 water-cooled engines from the WWI era are sought after for restoration projects (notably the JN-4 “Jenny”) or for custom Edwardian-era race car builds.
This engine is not in great condition as it had been stored in a damp environment before we acquired it, but it is restorable and could run again in a car. It is missing the rockers and various cylinder-top parts. The seller can help the buyer source missing parts if required. If the buyer wishes Retrotec would be happy to quote to restore this rare engine for motoring use.
