WL741 was first flown on 18th December 1952, first with 23 MU then transferred to 224 Sqn at St. Mawgan. In the 1960’s it was with 42 Sqn, 224 sqn and then on to 205 Sqn Changi, Singapore. In 1971 it returned to the UK after the disbandment of 205 Sqn where it was eventually to end up with 8 Sqn at Kinloss. This long-lived aircraft was finally transferred to the Central Training Establishment, Manston, Kent in 1981 where it was stripped and sadly consigned to the burn dump.
