LA610 was a Hawker test bed aircraft first designated as a Tempest Mk III prototype originally fitted with a RR griffon 85 with a contrarotating propeller. LA610 was then rebuilt, initially using a Bristol Centaurus engine, and then with a Napier Sabre VII producing over 3,500hp and redesignated as a Fury It is this configuration which is captured in this series of original photographs.
